Thalayani dam is one of the dams near Papanasam which stores the water of the river Thamirabarani.

Papanasam is located at about 12 kms from Ambasamudram, 56 Kms from Tirunelveli. The nearest railway station is located at Ambasamudram and the nearest airport is Tuticorin Airport which is 90 KMS.

Important: Thalayanai dam is no more allowed to public and trespassing is prohibited.
