Dear Zoroastrian Community,
The grand opening celebration for our newly purchased San Diego Dar-E-Mehr was held on Sunday, November 6th from 11:00 to 4:00.
We had upwards of 160 people attended to celebrate this momentous day. The center is something we have been waiting for over 20 years. This dream is a reality now.
At first glance, the attendees were pleased to see the San Diego Zoroastrian Center sign proudly showcasing the Faravahar and San Diego Zoroastrian Center made by Mr. Shahram Akhtarkhavari at the front entry. The hall was beautifully decorated with the book of Gatha and a portrait of Zarathustra boldly displayed. The stunning recognition tree, donated by Mr. Behnam Abadian stood out in the newly dedicated Parimarz Firoozgar Javanshir hall.
San Diego Board of Directors spent a lot of time making sure the main hall was ready for everyone. They served tea, coffee, sweets, water, and fruits for attendees. The occasion was joyful and celebratory. There was an overwhelming sense of accomplishment among the people present.
Daryush Bastani was the Master of Ceremony. He graciously thanked everyone for the great accomplishment and their contributions to the San Diego Community. The program started with Moobed Fariborz Shahzadi and Moobed Ashkan Bastani reciting prayers.
San Diego Board of Directors took the stage and honored the hard work and dedication of the Board of Trustees, the Real Estate and Fundraising group for going the extra mile.
Banoo Fereshteh Yazdani Khatibi had a message for the community and did us the honor of the ribbon cutting.
Mr. Sahram Ravari from Orange County Board of Directors congratulated the San Diego Community for their accomplishments.
Mr.Farhad Kermani took the stage and gave a brief history of the journey to acquire San Diego’s Center. He recognized the involved individuals for their tireless efforts. They were each presented with a plaque for their outstanding contribution to the Zoroastrian causes.
The ceremony concluded with the serving of drinks, fruits, and sandwiches.
The next step in our journey is to pay off the remainder of the mortgage to own the center outright. We need the community’s help to accomplish this. Please send your tax-deductible contribution to the fundraising committee.
