I had one day to spend in Frankfurt Germany and it went like this...
First of all I arrived here by train from the state of Bavaria to meet up with some friends for a concert. My first thought was, "wow, this doesn’t look like a traditional German city at all, I guess I’ve been living in the Bavarian countryside for too long."

Whenever I visit a city for the first time and have no idea what to do, I usually do 3 things: Get on my phone to see what’s around me via google maps, ask locals where to find the best traditional food, and go to souvenir shops to discover the specific tourist attractions displayed on the post cards.
If you’re staying in this area, Hotel Paulaner am Dom is everything you would expect a German hotel to be and you can’t beat the location. They have a nice spread of continental & traditional Bavarian Breakfast options including eggs, fruit, bread with Obazda cheese, cold cuts and Bavarian white sausages with sweet mustard. The rooms are perfectly adequate, clean, and your typical European size with two twin beds, closet space, TV. Bathrooms are also clean and provide plenty of space and lighting. Oh and some of the rooms have great views of the Cathedral as well as their beer garden downstairs.
Here's a list of what I did after checking in to the hotel
1) Frankfurt Cathedral + views from up top!
2) Financial District
3) Frankfurter Römer
4) Metzgerei DEY
5) St Paul's Church
6) Iron Foot Bridge
7) Struwwelpeter
