Winfred Randolph Lowe, aka, “Randy the Kite Man,” is a retired math teacher taking geometry to new heights. For the past 20 years, Winfred has spent his free time flying kites. Now he’s combining his two favorite pastimes to teach the fundamentals of geometry to students. His giant kites provide kids with physical and tangible representations of principles like the Pythagorean theorem. He continues to fly kites, both as a way to teach kids about math, but also to encourage them to spend time outside.
