Zimbabwe-Namibia Elephant Crisis: Why The African Countries Are Killing Hundreds Of Elephants?

Zimbabwe and Namibia decide to slaughter over 200 elephants. The decisions come amid severe drought conditions in the African countries. As per Zimbabwe, the meat of the slaughtered elephants will be distributed among the needy communities. Similarly, Namibia is also slaughtering over 700 wild animals, including 83 elephants. According to Zimbabwean authorities, the elephant population in the country is 100,000 which is double the capacity that its national parks can support.
