A World War II bomb caused a massive explosion in Great Yarmouth, England, on Friday, sending shockwaves through the town. The deadly device was discovered earlier in the week in the River Yare, by a contractor working on the third crossing.

The army specialists were in the process of defusing the bomb using a technique that slowly burns the explosives. The attempt to cut into the bomb began on Thursday and resulted in an "unplanned" detonation that left residents stunned.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and all army and emergency service personnel were safely accounted for. The explosion was captured on video by the police using their state-of-the-art drone technology, giving an up-close and personal look at the powerful blast.
