Altamira Orioles are year round residents in the Lower Rio Grande valley and northeastern Mexico. Similar in appearance to the Hooded Oriole, the black, white, and yellow orange Altamira is slightly larger and has a yellow orange shoulder patch. Birds may appear orange or yellow depending on lighting and surroundings. Juveniles are duller in appearance.
