(16 May 2017) Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi on Tuesday in Beijing, following the Belt and Road Forum that has just taken place in the Chinese capital.
Xi told Suu Kyi that China is willing to continue to provide Myanmar with necessary assistance in its peace progress, according to China's official Xinhua News Agency.
The two leaders agreed to take joint efforts to maintain peace and stability on their border, Xinhua said.
Suu Kyi also met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of a series of agreements in the areas of the economy, borders, health and culture.
