Hardar is the God of Fertility and Herds in the Karachay-Balkar pantheon. Usually imagined as a ram with golden fleece. Etymology could be possibly connected with the English word "herder" (see also German: Herde "herd", Dutch: herder "herder", Swedish: herde "herder"). This song is a prayer to the deity.
