Veterans who served in Afghanistan are being asked ‘was it worth it?’ and this is having an impact on their mental health. Help4Heroes say they’ve had an increase in calls from veterans. “If they have mental health issues such as stress, anxiety or PTSD from their time in Afghanistan, or they lost limbs or received brain injuries, this kind of questioning of the value of their service is not helpful. We need to acknowledge how proud we are of what they did and that they made a difference during their time there – irrespective of what is happening now.”
