Video Games are a lot of fun and can be an enjoyable pass time in their own right, but there are also a lot of surprising benefits to playing video games. In this video I share 10 Benefits to Playing Video Games. This list is not a comprehensive list but shares a few things that I think are pretty cool about playing video games.
1. Video Games can make you smarter: Some studies suggest that regularly playing video games can increase grey matter in your brain, helping with things like muscle control, memories, and spacial navigation.
2. Improved Fine Motor Skills: A study involved surgeons found ones who played video games when tested on their fine motor skills made less mistakes.
3. Problem Solving Skills: Because many games have complex puzzles people have developed better problem solving skills.
4. Motivation to Exercise: With VR, AR with mobile gaming (like Pokemon Go) and games with an exercise theme (Like Just Dance or Beat Saber) people have been motivated to be active and exercise.
5. Improved Vision: Some studies suggest that various aspects of your eyesight might be able to improve with healthy amounts of game play.
6. Stress Relief: Studies suggest that some games can improve your mood.
7. Improved Decision Making Skills: Many games require you to react quickly and make fast decisions and this skill can cary over to other aspects of your life.

9. Slow Down the Aging of the Mind: Participants in a study who were 50+ years old showed increased cognitive function after playing video games.
