A religious group apologised for the church's treatment of the LGBT community at a gay pride event in the Philippines. The uplifting call for equality was made by the Church of Freedom in Christ Ministries in Makati, part of Metro Manila, who held up signs saying 'I'm sorry for hiding behind religion when really I was just scared.' Another (inset) read 'I used to be a Bible-banging homophobe. Sorry!' Pastor Val Paminiano told Buzzfeed the group have been running their 'I'm Sorry' campaign for four years.
