Grammy Award winner David Darling is an internationally celebrated cellist and cofounder of Music for People, a nonprofit organization that promotes self-expression through music and improvisation.
Darling has released a number of solo CDs, including the critically-acclaimed Cello Blue and 8 String Religion, and has collaborated with a wide variety of musicians, including the Paul Winter Consort, Bobby McFerrin, Spyro Gyra, and Arlo Guthrie. His work also extends to compositions with writers such as Coleman Barks and Joseph Campbell, and masters of dance, such as The Hong Kong Ballet and tai chi master Chungliang Al Huang. Darling has long produced music for the film industry, too. His United States major motion picture credits include Heat and Insider.
Darling continues to perform at major festivals and concert venues internationally, such as Carnegie Hall and Queen Victoria Hall. When he is not on the road performing or teaching people to discover the natural creative expression within themselves through his work with Music for People, he creates music in his home studio, Camp David Recordings Studios, in Connecticut.
