I noticed this scene was never ever really paid attention to so I decided to upload the scene about it. (this is my favorite movie :] )

in this scene Bronagh is pregnant with Conors Daughter and Bens sister, Saoirse. However in order to save the child, she must go into the sea and turn into a selkie (at least that's what is theorized). Conor comes back to the lighthouse with Saoirse, And Ben asks where his mother is. Conor answers only by telling Ben that Saoirse is his sister, and that he must protect her.
Bronagh despite never really appearing in the movie is one of my favorite characters because of how she treats Her husband, son, and daughter. we do see her in the end and she gives her son a reassuring "I won't be here, but I'll always be with you".
