A visit to the beautiful Featherbed Nature Reserve in Knysna is most likely one of the best soft adventures to be enjoyed when visiting the Knysna area.
It's as simple as buying a ticket, hopping onto a ferry boat, and heading to the Western Head of Knysna.
The nature walk is a guided tour that will first take you to the top of this geological mass, with a truck train, before you slowly make your way back to the water's edge and eventually to the restaurant.
It's 2.5 km long and has a variety of viewpoints and interesting geological visits. It's really asteticly gorgeous, and I would highly recommend taking a camera.
Go hungry, as the buffet at the end is filled with delicious treats.
Recommendations are:
1. Wear a comfortable pair of walking shoes.
2. That sunhat and tube of sun cream are going to come in handy.
3. Take along water if you tend to get thirsty quickly.
4. You don't have to rush.
5. Enjoy this place. It's truly special.
