Innovation and testing are pivotal to choose the right assets and equipment prior to installing them on the Essential Energy distribution network. One means by which we ensure we are delivering best value for customers is using our Quality Assurance Lab. We test the mechanical and electrical properties of equipment. and expose it to stress and strain such as pulling conductors, simulating electrical stresses and applying mechanical force. We also expose them to accelerated ageing through nature's elements such as salt spray, corrosion and ultra violet radiation to simulate the impact over longer term use.
