My shower drain was leaking under my house into my floor and I had no access to the bottom to cut it out or unscrew it from there. The professional plumber said I had to rip out the whole shower stall to replace my drain. They estimated thousands of dollars in expenses or a lot of labor and hundreds of dollars if I did it myself. I cannot afford such an expense and it seemed ridiculous that I would need to do that just to swap out a drain. I could not find any solution on youtube for this situation, nor any forums. So I decided to create the video I wished was out there for me. I bought a wingtite top install shower drain to replace my old one. I used a rotary tool and a 1/4 inch drill bit to cut out my old plastic shower drain and did my best to minimize damage to my shower stall fiberglass. I managed to cut it out and replace it. Here is my three part series showing how I did it. Update months later, still working well, no leaks!!!
