Students Union called for a Jharkhand Bandh against the state government over the 60-40 recruitment policy in Ranchi on April 19. They protested on the streets in support of the Bandh. Police chased them with batons to remove them from the roads. The protesters had also requested the traders to shut their shops to support their protest. Security forces were deployed in view of the shutdown call.
“The bandh has been called by the student organisations as they have some demands, so we have made complete preparations. Forces are deployed at every intersection. If anything illegal happens, action will be taken against them”, said SP Shubhanshu Jain.
