Vaikka uskon tiellä kohtaamme haasteita, Jeesus on aina tukenamme tarjoten voimaa.
English:
Hello everyone and welcome again to our evening devotion! The weather is so beautiful today that I decided to enjoy it outside, even though there are a few mosquitoes. But those little bites don't matter when we're in such a beautiful place created by God. Everything beautiful is from God, and everything that is not beautiful or good is not God's will.
Today, we'll be reading chapters 35, 36, and 37 from the Book of Job, and from the New Testament, Paul's letter to Philemon. The Book of Job offers a wealth of wisdom for all of us. If we dare to trust in God and believe that He is good, our lives will gradually improve. Before we receive the gift of faith, our thoughts are tied to worldly things, but God can offer us so much more if we remain faithful.
When we come to faith, a period of spiritual seeking begins, which can last a lifetime. God has endless wisdom and wonders to offer us, but we must dare to relinquish our own will and trust in God's plan. This doesn't mean earthly success, but rather that God will always give us what we truly need.
The chapters 35 and 36 from the Book of Job remind us that sin does not harm God, but it harms us. God continuously teaches us and offers us wisdom and understanding. Even when it feels like we don't get answers from God, we must learn to wait and trust. God does not despise anyone and provides justice for the oppressed, which means eternal life.
In chapter 36, Elihu talks about how we should turn away from wrongdoing and turn to God. God saves us through our suffering, and therefore, we need to learn to endure trials and trust in God.
Paul's letter to Philemon is a beautiful example of love and humility. While in prison, Paul asks Philemon to take back Onesimus, not as a slave but as a beloved brother. This letter reminds us that we should not command anyone but rather ask and pray. Paul sets an example of humility and love, and we can learn a lot from this.
I pray that each of us can draw closer to Jesus and find our place in His plan. I especially pray for those who feel the burdens of life and need God's help and protection. Thank you for joining, and blessings to you all! We'll continue again tomorrow. Amen.
