This ride starts with a dramatic climb that offers jaw-dropping views of the North Atlantic and amazing cliff and rock scenery, which includes the two freestanding rocks known as Risin & Kellingin (Giant and the Witch). The climb takes you to the ‘Strait of Sunidini’. After 7.5 km / 4.6 miles you pass a stunning waterfall on your right. You cross the strait by bridge and ride back along the other side of the strait. A new climb offers more awesome views of the North Atlantic, views that are soon replaced with stunning vistas of the highest mountains on the Faroe Islands. As you ride, you pass numerous sheep that roam the roads freely. You also pass a beautiful mountain lake. As you get to the highest point on the route you can enjoy a descent with mesmerizing views of the ocean and the mountains.
In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of a pro rider. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.
Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app transforms your effort into speed and lets you ride the ride as if it were a real outdoor ride. With the app, you get a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on YouTube. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data such as altitude, distance, speed, heart rate, etc. displayed during the training session.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we have added no music. Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute YouTube and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc.) pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.
