A Study Group on the Potential of Dynamic Bilingualism Translanguaging in Bilingual Education streamed live on Monday, March 9, 2015. This webinar was led by Ofelia García from the CUNY Graduate Center and Sarah Hesson joined as the host.
Ofelia García provided participants with an overview of the theoretical foundations of translanguaging. Participants read selected chapters of the book “Translanguaging. Language, Bilingualism, and Education” (O. García & L. Wei, 2014) and of the forthcoming book “The Translanguaging Classroom” (O. García, S. Ibarra-Johnson & K. Seltzer). They also had opportunities to ask questions about the readings and share experiences.
