Kunsthalle Munchen is one of Germany’s most prestigious art exhibition museums.
Ignacio Zuloaga (1870-1945) shaped the image of Spain abroad like no other artist around 1900. He was influenced by the artistic legacy of Old Masters like Diego Velazquez, El Greco and Francisco de Goya. In the wake of industrialization and Spain’s increasing orientation towards modern Europe, Zuloaga strove to preserve the “Spanish soul” with scenes of proud toreros and spirited flamenco dancers, little people, beggars, and rural life and landscape.
