Part II of the Indian Constitution provided who are eligible to be a citizen of India on republic day, i.e. at the commencement of the constitution.
Now, what about a person born in India after the day of commencement? Or what if a person migrated after 1950 and want to become a citizen of India.
As per The Citizenship Act, 1955, a person born in India, or has Indian parentage, or has resided in India over a specified period, is eligible for Indian Citizenship.

2. Indian parentage
3. Residence for a specific time
