Lorrel E. Brown, M.D., FACC, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Associate Director, Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship Program at The University of Louisville, presented "Cardiac Arrest: Can Education Improve Outcomes?" at University of Louisville Department of Medicine Grand Rounds on February 1, 2018.
The talk focused on understanding postulated reasons for the variability in survival following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, identifying the gaps between best practices and real-world practices with regards to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defining CPR skill retention rates under current methods of instruction, and describing ways in which ongoing educational efforts seek to improve outcomes following cardiac arrest.
