Camp NaNoWriMo is almost upon us! Here are the 10 steps my brother and I will be following for Preparch (I'm sorry, I had to) as we aim to co-write a standalone fantasy novel together!!
0:00 Let the month of prep begin!
1:00 Step 1: Pick your project.
2:35 Step 2: Pick a word/hour/chapter goal. (I filled in "30" for our goal of writing every day.)
3:37 Step 3: Announce your project. (Either on the NaNo website, on TikTok, on Instagram, to your friends or family, whatever you like.)
3:58 Step 4: Figure out what you need to prep (or how often you will meet with your co-writer lolol).
4:19 Step 5: Nail down the setting & history of the dystopian town.
4:46 Step 6: Brainstorm main character motivations & other MC facets.
5:43 A quick aside on working in google docs & that set-up.
6:00 Step 7: Figure out Freytag's Pyramid and...
6:27 Step 8: Break that out into a beat sheet.
6:40 Step 9: Timelines for dummies. (It's me, I'm the dummy.)
7:01 Step 10: The chapter-by-chapter outline. (And why this will, fingers crossed, be David's first FINISHED project.)
7:41 Our final meeting (before Camp) will happen on March 31st!! And what our April looks like and how we'll trouble shoot any issues.
