Like many who saw it, Schindlers List was one of the most powerful stores I had ever witnessed and I’m sure like many others it had a very profound effect on me. Realising the grave was in Jerusalem I had to take the time to pay my respects. I have tried to learn a little about this very complicated man and like Jerusalem itself, he had many different facets.
Filming at the start took place in The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, The Dome of the Rock and The Western Wall, the 3 key places of faith in Jerusalem as Oskar Schindler in his actions appeared to be a part of all faiths.
To find it, walk through the Zion Gate, turn left through a car park and follow the exit ramp down and keep walking in the exact same direction for only another 50 metres and you’ll see a tall metal fence behind a small flat patch of land where a few cars park. You’ll see the gate there and it’s generally open 8-12pm. It’s a very powerful place. Paul
