Originally, March 14 each year is regarded as the International Pi Day due to its relation with the first few digits of the irrational number pi. However, last year UNESCO, and co-organized by the International Mathematical Union (IMU), proclaimed March 14 as the International Day of Mathematics.

The celebration on March 14, 2020 is a momentous event, since it is the first International Day of Mathematics. Today is the second year. It is celebrated in all parts of the world, but online due to the current pandemic situation. Stories, events, competitions, and photos around the world celebrating the International Day of Mathematics are included in the video.
