Kuah Pindang Mesanten is a Balinese style fish soup with coconut broth.
This is one of my all-time favourite soups, normally we make it from leftover fish stock from PINDANG (fish boiled in water, salt and Salam leaves), and with no fish meat inside. In this video I add some fish meat and extra chillies as I like to have it spicier 😁, I hope you enjoy the video and happy cooking 😊

Ingredients:
2 sliced mackerel (300 gr)
500 ml of freshwater
200 ml fresh coconut milk (made from 200 gr of freshly grated coconut and 180 ml of fresh water)
250 ml chicken stock
1 tsp salt
2 Salam leave
1-2 pcs lemongrass
2 kaffir lime leaves
3 shallots (15 gr)
3 garlic (15 gr)
2 Bali hot pepper (tabya Bali)
Some mix chillies optional
For the yellow paste:
5 garlic (25 gr)
1,5 cm lesser galangal or kencur or Kaempferia galanga (5 gr)
1 cm turmeric (3 gr)
2 pcs candlenuts
2 tbsp water
