When used frequently, calcium and mineral deposits will build up in your coffee maker, impacting the taste of your coffee. Dependent on the quality of your water, you should descale your machine every 3-4 weeks to remove these minerals and to ensure the perfect brew with each use. Learn how to descale your machine with this easy-to-follow guide:
1. When a descale is needed, the LCD screen will show DESC.
2. Empty the water tank by running the machine without coffee on pre-ground mode and then discard the water.
3. Add white vinegar to the water tank until the LCD shows 4 cups and then add water until 12 cups is shown.
4. Make sure carafe is empty and place in machine.
5. Hold the strength button for 5 seconds and select descale, the process should take 30 minutes.
6. Rinse the carafe and then complete two cycles with water only to rinse the machine.
