The first of several new F-15EX Eagle fighter jets arrived at the Portland Air National Guard Base on Wednesday.

The jets will replace the older F-15C models that were built in the 1980s.

The new jet might look similar, but the pilots tell KATU News that everything on the inside is brand new and completely different.

“Our old airplane is analog, this jet is digital,” said Col. Mike Kosderka, Commander 142nd Wing.

Koserka says the new aircraft will allow the 142nd Wing to remain relevant.
