"Oseh Shalom"--Yoel Sykes during the American Conference of Cantors Mission to Israel in 2014.. It is a weekday afternoon in a crowded room in at Kehillat Mevakshei Derech in a neighborhood in Jerusalem. The band is playing new melodies. We get up; we clap and dance. Our voices along with musicians fill up this very small space. It is a very hot afternoon--we don't care. And by the way--it is not "Yai-lai-lai," it is "Yeh, leh, leh.!"
