The Peripheral Nerve Injury Unit at Stanmore is recognised as the leading UK tertiary centre for the treatment of complex peripheral nerve injuries. Services include highly complex brachial plexus nerve repair, nerve grafts and nerve transfers in both infants and adults.
The Peripheral Nerve Injury unit has the facility to review, transfer and treat emergency patients as well as delivering care for more chronic problems. We have full expert paediatric anaesthetic support and paediatric and adult intensive care facilities on site. We can often provide a 'one stop shop' for nerve injury assessment with same day neurophysiology with our clinical partners at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Great Ormond St.
As well as nerve trauma the Peripheral Nerve Injury unit also deals with nerve tumours, thoracic outlet compression and peripheral nerve pain states. In many cases we can also offer secondary reconstruction for any residual motor or sensory disturbance following primary nerve surgery.
