The upcoming election is seen as a test of the military-backed ruling party’s commitment to reform. But some are already questioning whether the ballot can truly be said to be representative of the people.
There will be no polling in as many as 600 villages around the country. And in Rakhine State, hundreds of thousands of Muslim Rohingya will not be allowed to vote.
