In 2013 in the city of Chengdu, a man walked into a police station and reported both his mother and sister as missing. Just hours earlier the remains of a body had been found on a construction site across the city, which would later prove to be one of the missing women.
The prime suspect emerged to be the man's older sister, and daughter to the dismembered corpse.
The investigation took a bizarre turn when they police arrested the woman, her behaviour in custody left police questioning if they were dealing with someone who'd had a complete mental breakdown or who was putting on a performance to escape the consequences of her brutal actions.
