An ancient pilgrimage route from Canterbury in England to Rome in Italy, the Via Francigena explores medieval cities, vineyards, lakes and mountains as it travels through England, France, Switzerland and Italy on its journey to Rome and the Vatican City. These are highlights from a Cicerone Live event (see below for a link). Cicerone author Sandy Brown introduces his three guidebooks to the entire Via Francigena, along with a panel of special guests. Focusing on the popular Italian section of the walk, Sandy and the Cicerone team are joined by Luca Bruschi, executive director of the European Association of Vie Francigene; Julia Lewis, secretary of the Confraternity of Pilgrims to Rome; and Beatrice Moricci, a photographer and walker on the Via Francigena at the time of our event.
