Dont know much about these 2 trains except the first is more ugly than a class 70 !! Typical push-pull unit that frequents this line between Verona and Brennero and seen all over Italy.......dont believe Italy have any EMU, they are all loco&carriage types.
The second freight I assume is heading for Innsbruck and maybe Germany, as always double headed as this line becomes quite steep as it reaches the Alps and the pass. However once the new tunnel is built, single locos will be the norm as it will avoid the summit by some 577m using a 53km long pair of tunnels. See this linky;
