This short video contains treatment video of a limb salvage surgery for Solitary Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of Upper Femur bone (Hip).
This case scenario is of a middle aged lady who was diagnosed on CT guided biopsy to be suffering from a rare situation of adenocarcinoma of the upper femur bone. A whole body Fdg Pet Ct scan did not show any primary disease elsewhere in the body (this is a very rare scenario). She underwent limb salvage surgery and tumor Megaprosthetic reconstruction, which enabled to walk from the next day of surgery.
Post operative chemotherapy and in some instances post operative radiotherapy is advisable. Identifying the cancer is crucial for best possible result.
