The armchair FELTRI, made of felted wool, is statuary and creates admiration, evoking the shape of a shaman throne of modern styles.
Its base is made of polyester resin to be resistant, while the upper body made of felted wool with a quilted topper, is soft and malleable, wraparound anyone who sits on it as a royal mantle. The seating cushion is attached to structure with black hemp cords, visually emphasizing the back of the armchair and adding interest.
Most projects made by Gaetano Pesce are characterized by innovative materials, distinguished by a desire to experiment, and develop new forms, creating unique avant-garde design, quite equal to art pieces, to challenge the ordinary and traditional.
The armchair Feltri was presented for the first time by the Italian producer Cassina at the Exhibition iSaloni Milano in 1987, part of the contextual project “Unequal suite” signed by Gaetano Pesce. In this furnishing, the project included a wardrobe, a table, a modular sofa, and an armchair, all the pieces were different among them by style and aesthetics, but having in common a rustic aspect, tailored and daring, almost the opposite to formal styles of those years.
Nowadays, this armchair is proposed in two versions, with low and high backrest, also giving the alternative to personalize the upholstering in mono-colored or bi-colored.
