With all the misinformation on the rise, in this video we want to point out THE WORST kettlebell-mistakes you can make - if you watch too much YouTube.
Mistake #1 - Watching Too Much Kettlebell Content On YouTube
As we’ve seen with various (and sometimes conflicting) experts on different podcasts such as @joerogan, watching too much stuff may add to pre-existing confusion. If you lack discernment, you increase the chances that your level of perplexity may rise even higher.
Mistake #2 - Lacking Self-Awareness To Understand The Personal Skill Level
Props to @TheKneesovertoesguy for this one: You can read Chinese all day for the next twenty years and think, you’ll get better. Problem is, you’re just staring at something that you don’t understand. So unless somebody shows you how to interpret the language, you’re wasting your time.
Mistake #3 - Overdoing Advanced Kettlebell Protocols
We've recently started a new kettlebell workout cycle on our YouTube channel. These workouts are highly advanced and have a very high volume.
Still, some people think that they have to add more stuff into the mix - which can be good at some point. However, if you're constantly overdoing it - you're probably messing with your recovery.
Mistake #4 - Not Hiring/ Trusting a Coach OR a Professional To Help You Out
This is one of the biggest mistakes we see people do who watch too much YouTube. It's a fallacy to believe that you can learn anything through watching videos without ever consulting a credible expert in person (or online).
Mistake #5 - Getting Mad At The Messenger And Therefore Missing The Message
There was a comment on a video recently that went a little something like this: Coach X is making me mad because Coach X doesn’t look like me. Therefore Coach X is not feeling my struggle. Therefore Coach X cannot help me. While there is a need for a bond in common human experience, there's also a saying that goes: If you're mad at the messenger, you sometimes miss the message.
