Jalal al-Din Rumi (Mevlana Rumi) is considered one of the Sufis who proclaims the transcendent unity of religions. This video discusses Rumi’s view of paths to God. His view of paths to God explicates the standpoint of his. On one hand, Rumi considers all paths can lead anyone to God, but on the other, he insists that Islam is the straight path. Apart from it, Rumi still holds the inner unity of religions or the transcendent unity of religions given the fact that all paths according to him can lead everyone to the Ultimate Reality.

Certainly, what I am doing is based on hermeneutic which is Gadamerian, meaning Rumi’s horizon meets with my horizon, thereby giving rise a production of meaning. This video is the third part to dissect Rumi’s viewpoint on the religious diversity. Rumi often highlights the distinction between form and meaning. The two are employed to be our starting-point to interpret Rumi’s point of view of paths to God. Eventually, we will closely see what Rumi talks about the “religion of love”.
