Cyrus has reportedly been dating Morando, the drummer for the band Liily, since 2021 after the two were set up on a blind date. In February, a source close to the couple shared that they had moved in together and were "very happy" with their relationship. "Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy," the insider told People. "She’s very happy with him. He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press, which has been good for her."

Their night out comes shortly after the singer was sued by Tempo Music Investments, an investment platform that claims to own a share of the copyright for Bruno Mars' 2012 hit "When I Was Your Man," for copyright infringement related to her 2023 Grammy-winning single "Flowers." The platform alleges that the chorus, harmony, melody, chord progressions, and lyrics of "Flowers" were "intentionally" copied from Mars' song. Notably, Bruno Mars is not listed as a plaintiff in the lawsuit alongside Tempo Music Investments.
