Girls Take on the Devil's Wheel Challenge at Oktoberfest 2024!
Oktoberfest is the world's largest beer festival held annually in Munich, Germany. It traditionally begins at the end of September and lasts about 16-18 days, ending at the beginning of October. Oktoberfest was founded in 1810, when the people of Munich celebrated the wedding of Prince Ludwig (the future King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. This holiday later became an annual event and transformed into a grand national festival.
What happens at Oktoberfest?
Guests enjoy a variety of beers served in special beer tents, each owned by a separate brewery.
Traditional German dishes such as pretzels, fried sausages, schnitzels, eisben (pork knuckle) and other Bavarian delicacies are served.
The festival is accompanied by parades in traditional Bavarian clothing, carousels, attractions and performances by musicians.
In addition to beer, a large place is occupied by attractions that add fun and lift the mood. One of the most famous among them is the Devil's Wheel.
Devil's Wheel (Teufelsrad)
Devil's Wheel is one of the oldest and most popular Oktoberfest attractions, which appeared back in 1910. The essence of the attraction is simple, but incredibly fun:
People sit or lie down on a large circular rotating wheel that slowly begins to rotate.
Over time, the speed of rotation of the wheel increases, and participants try to stay on it as long as possible.
Due to the force of the centrifuge, they begin to be thrown out, causing admiration in the crowd of spectators. The goal is to stay on the wheel until the last one.
In addition to speed, the process can be complicated by the fact that the animators can push the participants or use ropes to throw them off balance. Devil's Wheel differs in that it does not have traditional seat belts or mechanical restraints - everything depends on the balance and dexterity of the participants.
This attraction is a unique mixture of comedy, adrenaline and challenge, which gives visitors and participants incredible emotions and a lot of laughter.
