The Coral Triangle is the Amazon of the Ocean. Despite being the largest and most diverse coral reef ecosystem on the planet, it is disappearing at an alarming rate, threatening the remarkable reefs of this underwater environment as well as the jobs and food security of hundreds of millions of people. In this talk, Dr. Barber introduces you to this global epicenter of marine biodiversity and chronicles his evolution from an evolutionary biologist focused on data, to a conservation biologist focused on building awareness of this largely unknown and under-studied habitat in an effort to catalyze local and global efforts to change the fate of this imperiled ecosystem.
