Indian Railways has reached a major milestone with the completion of the new Pamban Rail Bridge, significantly improving access to Rameswaram and the historic Ram Setu. The Chief Railway Safety Commissioner (CRS) has approved train operations on the bridge, which will soon allow passenger trains to travel across the sea. As India's first vertical lift sea bridge, it will enable direct train services to Rameswaram from all corners of the country. Indian Railways is now making final arrangements for the bridge’s public inauguration.
