How to TURN OFF the soft no load rotation function on the Makita Brushless cordless jigsaw DJV182Z - Power tool hacks makita brushless cordless jigsaw 2020 soft start.
In this quick video I show you How to Turn off Soft no load rotation function on the Makita Brushless Jigsaw 18v DJV182Z. The Makita cordless brushless jigsaw has a soft start function for safety. This can be turned off easily as shown in the video.
This is country specific but give it a try as should work with the brushless model. I think they made this additon to the newer model DJV182Z after so many complaining about the soft load. So the early model around 2017/2019 may not have the option to turn off. But newer ones should work, mine and a few of my friends have them and this has worked for them too.
If yours has a light when you turn it on.
Follow the steps.
When you turn the jigsaw on you will see it light up, this will let you know if soft load is on or off. If it lights up with a solid light then the safey feature is on. If you turn the jigsaw on and the light flashes 3 times, the soft start is off.
To turn the soft no load rotation function on/off
- With machine switched off, put the speed dial on 1 (or 6).
- Turn machine on and turn the dial to 6 (or 1) and then straight back to 1 (or 6).
- Machine will now either be enabled or disabled.
- To find out which mode its in when switching on the machine will have a solid light when swithed on. This means its engaged. If flashed 3 times its off.
Great unit and im glad I went for this model and not the older non brushless model.
