Introduction to the Agilent E5061B Impedance Analyzer -Download the physics lab handout here: [ Ссылка ]
Objective: To learn how to measure the electrical impedance (voltage divided by
current) of a driven oscillating system. The impedance is complex because there is in
general a phase between the voltage and the current. While an oscilloscope can display
voltage as a function of time, the Agilent E5061B Network Analyzer can measure the
magnitude and phase of the impedance of a transducer and display these quantities as a
function of frequency.
Apparatus: Agilent E5061B Network Analyzer and an inductor (larger value, e.g.,
roughly 5 mH or more, not necessarily large in physical size).
Tip: The E5061B has saved configurations. If you put it into some strange mode,
simply recall state #5 for this experiment under the “Save/Recall” menu. Also, when
you are done with the lab, recall configuration 5 to set the analyzer back to its
original state for the next lab group.
