Like most young or green horses, Zuckerfee doesn’t have the muscular development to lift into the canter without tightening her back and raising her head and neck to help the hind legs pick up the canter. And of course, she doesn’t know she should do it any differently anyway!
In this video, JJ gently guides Zuckerfee through canter/trot transitions helping her learn to carry herself in a way that builds her topline while simultaneously addressing her ever-present right drift.
