This is film of a pas de trios from a ballet called, I think, 'L'Appel de la Montaigne' ('The Call of the Mountain'). That ballet was choreographed in 1945 by Serge Peretti and set I believe to music by Arthur Honegger.
The dancers here are Serge Peretti, Serge Lifar and Lycette Darsonval, all principles at the time of the Paris Opera Ballet.
I'm always fascinated by those legendary principal dancers of the Ballets Russes, and Serge Lifar is one, even if his dancing is not of the highest order. I recall Olga Spessivtzeva famously and kindly saying 'He was not bad' when interviewed by Anton Dolin about her appearances with Lifar in 'Giselle' in the 1930s, an interview which appeared in the 1982 documentary film 'A Portrait of Giselle'.
What is most interesting about this footage for me however is the chance to better know the dancing of Serge Peretti and Lycette Darsonval.
Enjoy!
