No punishment if you don't show up for it. A court suspended hearings on the case of Arkadiy Korniyevsky - a militant from the so-called Luhansk People's Republic. He is accused of torture but has never been punished because, according to Ukrainian law, he could not be tried in absentia. The verdict is not subject to appeal and his accusers are outraged and have decided to seek justice elsewhere.
