This is the story of the birth of Jesus, and explains how he was still conceived by God, but was not considered God's son any more than the rest of us are considered to be God's sons and daughters. Until the late 300's, there was much debate about who Jesus was in relation to God. Many believed he was God's Son, others believed he was just a man sent to bring people closer to God.
It was the Roman Catholic Church who decided that Christianity would follow with the belief that Jesus was the same as God, and that the three, God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost, comprised the Holy Trinity. When this happened, Christians lost their connection to Judaism, because Jews believe that Jesus was only a man, and a heretic at that. The connection between Muslims and Christians was lost because Islamic belief states that Jesus was only sent by God, and that he was not God's Son, as Christians believe.
Many Pagans understand that along with Easter, Christmas is another holiday set aside that takes over their holidays' time period, but along the same meaning. Pagans have a holiday celebrating children around the same time as Christmas, and another around the same time as Easter. When Jesus became part of the Trinity, pagans were 'given' other holidays to celebrate instead of their own.
All of this came from war, bloodshed, murder, treachery, treason, fighting, disagreements, and imprisonment. What I believe is that God, Allah, Yahweh, is sooooooo complicated, we can never know what He wants, and we can only guess for now. We will all know what the truth is when it is time, according to Him.
To me, there is no reason to fight, or kill, over something that in time, we will all know the truth on. When did 'who Jesus was' become so important? When the Catholic Church decreed it so, and then the off shoots, the Protestants for one, agreed with that doctrine, kept it, and carried it further into time. Does the Bible say this is true? Yes, because it was edited.
Yes, lots to discuss. Please comment, leave the hate out of it. God, Allah, Yahweh, Jesus, they were all about love, patience, and kindness. Let's show some. Nobody likes a cruel teacher. Please don't be one. Thank you.
